Erna Low have a long history in the ski holidays industry. They are arguably the inventor of the ski holiday when back in 1932 Erna Low would place adverts in The Times inviting young people to join her on a Christmas trip to her home country of Austria.
As part of their 80 year anniversary a video was produced documenting the history and some of the original trips they ran. We were struck by the glamour and nostalgia evoked by the video – being particularly drawn to the red luggage tags used to identify their customers belongings.
As part of a brand update we wanted to bring this history, passion, and expertise through to their new identity, brochure, and website. We reinstated some of the classic design elements along with retro photography, colours, and typography.
The details in the design included elements to evoke feelings of travel, such as old air mail patterns, postcard stamps, and the classic luggage tag.
